Easy Blueberry Delight Dessert

This Blueberry Delight Dessert Recipe is fabulous, quick and easy.

I made this for a Christmas luncheon last week and it was a hit!

Several people asked for the recipe so I had to add it to my favorite desserts on Cooking New Orleans Style.

There are many variations to this recipe. This 4 layer dessert will be a winner, no matter how you fix it!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 large container cool whip (16 ounces)
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Directions

    Layer 1
Mix melted butter, pecans and 1 tablespoon sugar with a spoon. Slowly add the flour. The mixture will form into a ball. Spread into a 9x13 ungreased pan.

    Bake 350 for 15-20 minutes.

    Let cool.

    Layer 2
Mix powdered sugar and cream cheese together until light and fluffy.
Fold in 1 cup cool whip.
    Spread over baked cooled crust.

    Layer 3
Spread 1 can blueberry pie filling over layer cream cheese mixture.

What makes this recipe so great is its versatility. You can substitute cherry or lemon pie filling for the blueberries.

Additionally, you use prepared chocolate, vanilla or even butterscotch instant pie pudding for even more variety!

    Layer 4
Spread the remaining cool whip over the pie filling. You may have some cool whip left over.

That’s it! I normally refrigerate an hour or two before serving to let the cool whip set.
