Easy, Yummy Chess Squares
There are many variations to this great recipe, but Granny'schess squares are quick, easy, delicious and foolproof! This is a very rich dessert. Be sure to cut into smallsquares and watch them disappear! Ingredients 1 box butter recipe yellow cake mix3 eggs1 stick melted butter1 cup chopped pecans8 ounces Philadelphia cream cheese, softened1 box confectionary sugar1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions Preheat oven 350 degrees. Butter 9x13 pan lined with foil. Combine cake mix, 1 egg, melted butter, and chopped pecansinto a large bowl. Press into bottom of pan. Mix softened cream cheese, 2 eggs and vanilla. Add sugar a little at a time (about 1/5 box at a time). Pour over mixture in pan. Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Make sure dessert is well browned. Cool in pan, then cut into small squares before serving.
