Easy Crawfish Pie Recipe

This quick and easy and tasty Crawfish Pie Recipe comes from my sister in-law, Judy. To save time we use the ready made pie shells. You are welcomed to make your own crust!

We serve this as a main dish with a side salad. It is a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound coarsely minced crawfish tails, deveined
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup green onion, minced
  • 2 ribs celery minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup parsley, minced
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 4 tablespoons tomato soup
  • ½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pastry dough for 2 pies (4 fold up pieces - Pillsbury ready made)
  • Directions

In a large skillet sauté onions, celery, garlic in butter until limp.

Add soup, tomato sauce, crawfish and parsley.

Cook slowly for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.

Add breadcrumbs, salt, peppers and egg.

Mix well. Add milk and mix again.

Pour into pie shells. Place top pie crust on top of mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

    The recipe makes 2 pies.
